Hello, I’m Ryan Chang
A product designer from Taiwan, currently based in Tokyo and designing for 60M+ users at PayPay, one of Japan’s leading fintech companies.
I started my design journey as an intern at BenQ, designing B2B products for the US K-12 education sector, optimizing device management and enhancing teaching experiences through workshops with stakeholders and users. Next, at Garmin, I explored wearables, designing interfaces that lived on users’ wrists, synced with mobile apps, and translated research insights into practical solutions.
Then, at Carousell, a second-hand e-commerce platform serving markets across Asia, including Singapore, Hong Kong, Indonesia, and Taiwan. I learned to define problems through user interviews and design solutions that worked, covering both consumer-facing features and internal tools such as marketing platforms. I also began working with cross-regional teams to address design needs across different country markets.
Finally, curiosity brought me to Tokyo, where I joined PayPay, one of Japan’s leading fintech companies with over 60M users. I have led projects that shaped how millions of people top up, explore new payment methods, and interact with ATMs. I quickly absorb new knowledge and value consistency, teamwork, and feedback, turning every design challenge into meaningful impact.
Outside of work, I’m the type who books a trip to a city I’ve never been to, just to see what I might discover along the way.
